The University of Newcastle seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead strategic projects within the College of Engineering, Science and Environment. Reporting to the College General Manager, you will manage a small team, coordinate stakeholders, and oversee resources to deliver initiatives on schedule.

You will develop project plans, drive business improvements and oversee student, staff, industry and community engagement programs, enabling informed strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• A degree with at least four years of relevant experience or extensive management experience in business administration and project management.
• Experience liaising with multiple internal and external stakeholders including consultation, influencing and negotiation skills.
• Project management experience with planning, delivering and evaluating outcomes to schedule.
• Ability to lead and inspire a team of professional staff to deliver exceptional performance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with initiative and flexibility.

The University of Newcastle is seeking a Project Manager to lead strategic projects and engagement initiatives within the College of Engineering, Science and Environment.

Reporting to the College General Manager, you will provide expert project management, business improvement and stakeholder engagement leadership to support the delivery of the College's strategic priorities. Leading a small team of project and engagement professionals, you will oversee multiple projects, coordinate diverse stakeholders, manage resources and budgets, and ensure initiatives are delivered successfully and on schedule.

In this role you will:

• Lead and deliver strategic projects aligned with College priorities and objectives.

This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term position and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal and Worimi land).

How will you inspire us?

You will have:

• A degree with at least four years subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise in business administration and project management; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and or education/training.
• Experience liaising with multiple internal and external stakeholders including excellent consultation, influencing and negotiation skills and proven ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
• Project management experience with demonstrated capacity in planning, delivering and evaluating outcomes to schedule.
• Ability to lead and inspire a team of professional staff to deliver exceptional performance and outcomes.
• Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills and proven capacity to exercise initiative, flexibility and to be proactive in development of robust solutions to problems.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
• Demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively on initiatives with a range of people at different levels within the organisation.
