Job summary

Joule Resources in Perth, Western Australia, is seeking a Lead / Senior Mechanical Engineer to drive multidisciplinary projects in the mining and minerals sector.

Based in Perth, you will lead design, construction and commissioning of mineral processing facilities across Australia, coordinating multi-discipline teams and ensuring safety, quality and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years' technical and practical experience in design, construction and commissioning of mineral processing plants.
• Solid understanding of design theories and practices including sizing conveyors, pumps and equipment typical of mineral processing.
• Ability to contribute to layouts and designs from concept to detailed drawings.
• Knowledge of engineering design standards and practices.
• Experience across both wet and dry plant environments.
• Hands-on leader capable of guiding a multi-skilled project team.
• Full and unrestricted Australian working rights.

Responsibilities

• Assisting lead designers in the development of layouts and conceptual designs.
• Completing detailed mechanical engineering designs and calculations.
• Technical review of mechanical drawings and vendor documentation.

• Ensuring design compliance with statutory regulations and company standards.
• Ensuring designs are fit for purpose, considering cost, constructability, operability and maintainability.

We are working with a well-known engineering services business specialising in the design, construction and commissioning of mineral processing facilities. With a strong global footprint and a sustained period of growth, they are now seeking a Lead / Senior Mechanical Engineer to join theirteam.

The Opportunity

We are on the lookout for an experienced Lead / Principal / Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a multidisciplinary Engineering Team delivering outstanding results across projects in the mining and minerals industry.

Based out of Perth, you will work across a range of projects throughout Australia and across a variety of commodities, including gold, copper and iron ore, with occasional site visits depending on project requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Leading a project team to achieve design budgets and schedules, including technical direction and coordination
• Assisting lead designers in the development of layouts and conceptual designs
• Completing detailed mechanical engineering designs and calculations
• Technical review of mechanical drawings and vendor documentation

About You

• Able to contribute to conceptual layouts and designs through to detailed designs and drawings
• Current knowledge of engineering design standards and practice
• Experience across both wet and dry plant
• A hands on leader, comfortable leading a multiskilled project team
• Full and unrestricted Australian working rights
