Job summary

The Workplace Injury Commission is seeking a Project Management Analyst to help shape initiatives from concept through development, and to drive robust business cases that align with governance.

You will work across the ePMO, lead concept briefs, coordinate with strategy and governance, and support day-to-day project planning and delivery.

A supportive Victorian Government statutory authority offering mentoring, flexible arrangements, and opportunities to impact injured Victorians.

Qualifications

• Experience shaping initiatives from early concept phase, including scoping, feasibility assessment and Concept Brief development.
• Strong capability in Business Case development, including benefits, risks, financials and delivery options.
• Proven project planning skills, able to initiate project management plans and drive day-to-day delivery.
• Strong stakeholder partnering and influencing capability, with demonstrated experience building trusted relationships.
• Ability to analyse complex information, solve problems and provide clear recommendations.
• Highly organised, proactive and self-directed, with the ability to take ownership and manage competing priorities with limited supervision.
• Adaptable and willing to contribute across broader ePMO priorities, including portfolio reporting, governance, risk and assurance activities.

Partnering closely with business leaders, sponsors and subject matter experts, the Project Management Analyst will help define problems, assess feasibility, and develop high-quality documentation that supports informed decision-making. Drawing on your experience in shaping initiatives from concept through development, and your expertise in business case preparation, you will lead the development of initiative concept briefs, ensuring that options, requirements, risks and potential benefits are clearly articulated.

You will contribute to the creation of robust business cases by defining costs, benefits, delivery approaches and key assumptions, while ensuring alignment with organisational investment frameworks and governance requirements.

Beyond initiative development, you will contribute across the broader ePMO function, including portfolio reporting, governance, risk and assurance activities, with priorities evolving in response to organisational needs.

Bringing proven project planning and coordination skills, you will support the day-to-day delivery of project management activities and plans. You will also collaborate effectively across strategy, portfolio, change and communications functions to drive successful outcomes and realise value for the organisation.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• Experience shaping initiatives from early concept phase, including scoping, feasibility assessment and Concept Brief development.
• Strong capability in Business Case development, including benefits, risks, financials and delivery options.
• Proven project planning skills, able to initiate project management plans and drive day‑to‑day delivery.
• Strong stakeholder partnering and influencing capability, with demonstrated experience building trusted relationships, facilitating workshops, constructively challenging thinking and gaining alignment across diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to analyse complex information, solve problems and provide clear recommendations.
• Highly organised, proactive and self-directed, with the ability to take ownership, exercise sound judgement and manage competing priorities with limited supervision.
• Adaptable and willing to contribute across broader ePMO priorities, including portfolio reporting, governance, risk and assurance activities.
