Job summary

Downer supports maintenance delivery for Victoria's Transport & Infrastructure. A Project Engineer will manage operational maintenance activities in the Hume region, ensuring Zero Harm and meeting cost/quality targets.

You'll lead project engineers, supervisors, labour, and subcontractors, driving schedules and resource plans with MS Project & Excel to deliver safe, reliable road networks.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job Description

Downer Maintenance & ITS deliver routine maintenance, planned maintenance, defect and hazard rectification and emergency response services to more than 8,500 lane kilometres of road in Victoria’s Hume region, stretching from Mitchell Shire on the edge of metropolitan Melbourne to the north-east corner of the State.

To successfully deliver on the VRMC, we are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team in in the Hume region of Victoria. This rolewill be responsible for the operational management of various maintenance activities ensuring Zero Harm, cost and quality delivery meet contract specifications.

What you’ll bring

Proven experience managing civil infrastructure projects, including resource planning and project scheduling

Solid understanding of tender preparation and negotiation processes

Strong grasp of Project Management fundamentals

Ability to manage, supervise, and schedule activities of Project Engineers, Supervisors, labour workforce, subcontractors, and on-site admin staff

Commitment to Zero Harm work practices

Excellent planning, organisational, and time management skills

Demonstrated ability to lead teams and collaborate effectively

Advanced computer proficiency, especially in MS Project and Excel
