Job summary

Downer Group is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join the Transport & Infrastructure team in Victoria's Hume region. You will manage maintenance activities, drive cost and quality delivery, and lead Project Engineers, Supervisors and contractors to meet contract specs.

The role emphasizes Zero Harm, strong planning and scheduling discipline, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing civil infrastructure projects, including resource planning and scheduling.
• Solid understanding of tender preparation and negotiation processes.
• Strong grasp of Project Management fundamentals.
• Ability to supervise and schedule Project Engineers, Supervisors, labour, subcontractors and on-site staff.
• Commitment to Zero Harm work practices.
• Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and collaborate effectively.
• Advanced computer proficiency, especially in MS Project and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operational management of maintenance activities in the Hume region.
• Ensure Zero Harm, cost and quality delivery meet contract specifications.
• Lead and coordinate Project Engineers, Supervisors, labour, subcontractors and on-site staff.
• Plan, schedule and manage resources to align with contract requirements.
