Job summary

FMS Field Mining Services Group – Mackay QLD is seeking a dynamic Project Engineer to lead projects from tender through closeout. You will provide onsite engineering support, assist with cost control, develop schedules, and collaborate with design and field teams to deliver practical solutions for our mining sites.

Strong mechanical engineering background, 2+ years in project engineering, proficiency with SolidWorks, AutoCAD and Ansys, and solid communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 2 years in project engineering with tender-to-closeout exposure.
• Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and analyses.
• Strong communication, collaboration and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficiency with MS Project, Word and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite project engineering support including cost control and QA management.
• Prepare quotes, tender materials, and build Gantt charts for projects.
• Support design and engineering of new jigs and tooling for site rollout.
• Contribute to winning and successfully executing projects.
