Job summary

McConnell Dowell is seeking experienced Project Engineers for the Kwinana Freeway Widening Project in Perth, Western Australia. You will provide technical leadership, coordinate across civil, electrical and ITS packages, and work with alliance partners to deliver on time and within budget.

Ideal candidates hold Civil, Electrical or Construction Engineering degrees and have a track record delivering major infrastructure projects.

Job description

McConnell Dowell is seeking experienced Project Engineers to join the team delivering the recently awarded Kwinana Freeway Widening Project. This landmark infrastructure project will improve one of Perth's busiest transport corridors and play a critical role in supporting the future growth of Western Australia's road network. Delivered through an Alliance model, the project involves a diverse range of complex construction activities including major roadworks, structures, utilities, intelligent transport systems and multidisciplinary stakeholder coordination. Following an initial mobilisation phase in the Perth CBD, the project team will transition to a dedicated project office located south of the river.

About the Role

As a Project Engineer, you will provide technical leadership and coordination across key construction packages, working closely with Superintendents, Site Engineers, subcontractors and Alliance partners to safely deliver works on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. You will be responsible for planning and coordinating construction activities, managing subcontractors, overseeing engineering and quality requirements, monitoring costs and driving project outcomes in a collaborative Alliance environment.

We Are Interested in Engineers with Experience Across:

Civil Infrastructure

• Road construction and freeway upgrades
• Piling and foundation works
• Bridge construction works
• Retaining structures and structural concrete
• Noise walls and associated civil works
• Drainage and pavement construction

Utilities

• Electrical reticulation and power services
• Communications and fibre optic networks
• Utility relocations, service coordination and new services

Electrical & Intelligent Transport Systems

• Street lighting infrastructure
• Integration of roadside electrical infrastructure
• ITS installations, including CCTV systems,
• Traffic monitoring and communications systems

About You

• Degree qualifications in Civil, Electrical or Construction Engineering
• Experience delivering major infrastructure, transport, roads, utilities or civil construction projects
• Strong planning, coordination and subcontractor management capability
• Sound commercial awareness and cost management skills
• A collaborative approach and ability to build effective relationships across project teams
• A commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement

Experience working within Alliance, Design & Construct or collaborative contracting environments will be highly regarded.
