Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support delivery of the Maritime Navigation Display System Program across multiple Naval surface vessels and submarines. You will manage engineering documentation and products across the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with CDPL/contract deliverables and WHS requirements.

The role requires leading a multidisciplinary engineering team, supplier management, and maintaining NV1 Australian Defence clearance.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in an Engineering or Scientific discipline.
• Knowledge of Maritime and Naval platforms desirable.
• 5+ years' or more experience practicing in a Senior Engineering position within the Project/Systems Engineering discipline fields.
• Experienced in managing a team of engineers across multiple disciplines.
• Supplier/sub-contractor relationship management experience.
• ASDEFCON and EVM process knowledge.
• Ability to hold and maintain an Australian Defence Clearance to a NV1 level.

Responsibilities

• Oversee production and delivery of engineering documentation and products across the project lifecycle.
• Ensure WHS obligations are met.
• Manage and oversee the safety case certifying system compliance with contract and regulatory safety requirements.
• Coordinate with customer sites; occasional travel may be required.

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support successful delivery of all engineering activies within the Maritime Navigation Display System Program across multiple Naval Surace Vessel Classes and Submarines. Day to day duties include, but are not limited to; manage and oversee the production and delivery of supporting engineering documentation and products/system across the project lifecycle, in accordance with the defined Contracted Data Requirement List (CDRL) and/or agreed engineering deliverables. Ensuring L3Harris IMSA WHS obligations are met. Manage and oversee the safety case that certifies system compliance with contract and regulatory safety requirements. Occasional travel to and from customer sites will be required.

About You

• Tertiary qualifications in an Engineering or Scientific discipline
• Knowledge of Maritime and Naval platforms desirable
• 5+ years' or more experience practicing in a Senior Engineering position within the Project/Systems Engineering discipline fields.
• Experienced in managing a team of engineers across multiple disciplines
• Supplier/sub-contractor relationship management experience
• ASDEFCON and EVM process knowledge
