Job summary

L3Harris Maritime Australia is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the Maritime Navigation Display System program across Naval Surface Vessel Classes and Submarines. You will oversee engineering documentation, ensure CDrl deliverables, and maintain WHS compliance.

Travel to customer sites may be required. The role demands a tertiary engineering or science degree, 5+ years in senior engineering, and Australian Defence NV1 clearance, with strong leadership and supplier management

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Science.
• Experience in senior engineering within project/systems fields.
• Knowledge of maritime or naval platforms is desirable.
• Experience leading a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
• Supplier/sub-contractor relationship management experience.
• Awareness of ASDEFCON and EVM processes.
• Ability to obtain Australian Defence NV1 clearance.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support successful delivery of all engineering activies within the Maritime Navigation Display System Program across multiple Naval Surace Vessel Classes and Submarines. Day to day duties include, but are not limited to; manage and oversee the production and delivery of supporting engineering documentation and products/system across the project lifecycle, in accordance with the defined Contracted Data Requirement List (CDRL) and/or agreed engineering deliverables. Ensuring L3Harris IMSA WHS obligations are met. Manage and oversee the safety case that certifies system compliance with contract and regulatory safety requirements.

Occasional travel to and from customer sites will be required.

About you

• Tertiary qualifications in an Engineering or Scientific discipline
• Knowledge of Maritime and Naval platforms desirable
• 5+ years' or more experience practicing in a Senior Engineering position within the Project/Systems Engineering discipline fields.
• Experienced in managing a team of engineers across multiple disciplines
• Supplier/sub-contractor relationship management experience
• ASDEFCON and EVM process knowledge
• Ability to hold and maintain an Australian Defence Clearance to a NV1 level
