Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the delivery of Maritime Navigation Display System projects across Naval vessels and submarines in Australia. You will oversee engineering documentation, manage CD**/L deliverables and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Day-to-day duties include coordinating a multi-disciplinary engineering team, maintaining project documentation, and ensuring timely delivery with a focus on WHS obligations.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in an Engineering or Scientific discipline.
• 5+ years in Senior Engineering roles.
• Experience leading a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
• Knowledge of ASDEFCON and EVM processes.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence NV1 clearance.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the production and delivery of supporting engineering documentation and products across the project lifecycle.
• Ensure WHS obligations are met and oversee the safety case for regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate multi-discipline engineering activity and supplier/sub-contractor relationships.
• Oversee delivery against Contracted Data Requirement List (CDRL) and contractual deliverables.
• Occasional travel to customer sites as required.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support successful delivery of all engineering activities within the Maritime Navigation Display System Program across multiple Naval Surface Vessel Classes and Submarines. Day to day duties include, but are not limited to, manage and oversee the production and delivery of supporting engineering documentation and products/system across the project lifecycle, in accordance with the defined Contracted Data Requirement List (CDRL) and/or agreed engineering deliverables. Ensuring L3Harris IMSA WHS obligations are met. Manage and oversee the safety case that certifies system compliance with contract and regulatory safety requirements.

Occasional travel to and from customer sites will be required.

About you

• Tertiary qualifications in an Engineering or Scientific discipline
• Knowledge of Maritime and Naval platforms desirable
• 5+ years' or more experience practicing in a Senior Engineering position within the Project/Systems Engineering discipline fields.
• Experienced in managing a team of engineers across multiple disciplines
• Supplier/sub-contractor relationship management experience
• ASDEFCON and EVM process knowledge
• Ability to hold and maintain an Australian Defence Clearance to a NV1 level
