Job summary

L3Harris IMSA is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Maritime Navigation Display System Program across Naval Surface Vessel Classes and Submarines. Day-to-day duties include managing production and delivery of engineering documentation and system deliverables across the project lifecycle.

Occasional travel to customer sites is required; the role requires 5+ years in a Senior Engineering position, team leadership, ASDEFCON and EVM knowledge, and ability to obtain NV1 Australian Defence

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering or Scientific discipline.
• Experience in Maritime/Naval platforms is desirable.
• Proven track record in senior engineering roles across project/systems engineering.
• Experience leading engineers across multiple disciplines.
• Experience with supplier/sub-contractor management.
• Knowledge of ASDEFCON and earned value management.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the production and delivery of engineering documentation and products across the project lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with contractually defined data requirements and safety/regulatory standards.
• Oversee safety case and system compliance; support delivery across multiple vessel classes and submarines.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support successful delivery of all engineering activies within the Maritime Navigation Display System Program across multiple Naval Surace Vessel Classes and Submarines. Day to day duties include, but are not limited to; manage and oversee the production and delivery of supporting engineering documentation and products/system across the project lifecycle, in accordance with the defined Contracted Data Requirement List (CDRL) and/or agreed engineering deliverables. Ensuring L3Harris IMSA WHS obligations are met. Manage and oversee the safety case that certifies system compliance with contract and regulatory safety requirements.

Occasional travel to and from customer sites will be required.

About you

To be successful in this role, some skills & experience ideal applicants will bring include;

• Tertiary qualifications in an Engineering or Scientific discipline


• Knowledge of Maritime and Naval platforms desirable


• 5+ years' or more experience practicing in a Senior Engineering position within the Project/Systems Engineering discipline fields.


• Experienced in managing a team of engineers across multiple disciplines


• Supplier/sub-contractor relationship management experience


• ASDEFCON and EVM process knowledge


• Ability to hold and maintain an Australian Defence Clearance to a NV1 level
