Job summary

L3Harris Maritime Australia (IMSA) is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to drive delivery of the Maritime Navigation Display System program across vessel classes and submarines. You will oversee engineering documentation, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and manage a team of engineers and suppliers.

Occasional travel to customer sites may be required. Eligibility for Australian Defence Clearance NV1 is essential.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in an Engineering or Scientific discipline.
• 5+ years in a Senior Engineering/Project/Systems Engineering role.
• Experience leading engineers across multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee production and delivery of engineering documentation and products across the project lifecycle.
• Ensure WHS obligations are met and safety case certified to contract/regulatory requirements.
• Manage a multidisciplinary engineering team and external suppliers/sub-contractors.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support successful delivery of all engineering activies within the Maritime Navigation Display System Program across multiple Naval Surace Vessel Classes and Submarines. Day to day duties include, but are not limited to; manage and oversee the production and delivery of supporting engineering documentation and products/system across the project lifecycle, in accordance with the defined Contracted Data Requirement List (CDRL) and/or agreed engineering deliverables. Ensuring L3Harris IMSA WHS obligations are met. Manage and oversee the safety case that certifies system compliance with contract and regulatory safety requirements.

Occasional travel to and from customer sites will be required.

About you

To be successful in this role, some skills & experience ideal applicants will bring include;

• Tertiary qualifications in an Engineering or Scientific discipline
• Knowledge of Maritime and Naval platforms desirable
• 5+ years' or more experience practicing in a Senior Engineering position within the Project/Systems Engineering discipline fields.
• Experienced in managing a team of engineers across multiple disciplines
• Supplier/sub-contractor relationship management experience
• ASDEFCON and EVM process knowledge
• Ability to hold and maintain an Australian Defence Clearance to a NV1 level
