Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking multiple levels of highly motivated Systems Engineers to contribute to critical Australian Defence programs on shipborne communications and navigation subsystems. You will engage with customers, OEMs and staff to develop requirements, draft design documents, and execute test procedures while supporting safety programs.

To succeed, you should have a degree in engineering, experience in the systems lifecycle, and be eligible for Australian Defence Security

Qualifications

• Demonstrated relevant experience in the Systems Engineering Lifecycle.
• Be able and willing to obtain Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1.
• Defence industry experience preferred.
• Degree in Communications/Electrical/Electronics/Systems Engineering or similar.
• Development of specifications, requirements, design, and test procedures.
• Knowledge of the operation of communications equipment and systems.
• Understanding of Configuration Management practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ship inspections and liaise with customers, OEMs and staff to develop requirements.
• Assess constraints and produce design documents, test procedures and test reports.
• Support the approved safety program for the project.

About The Role

We are seeking multiple levels of highly motivated and technically competent Systems Engineers, looking to make their mark on some of the most high-profile and strategically critical Australian Defence Industry programs.

Systems Engineers will support the creation and review of contracted engineering outputs involved in delivering communications/navigations/platform management subsystems for the remaining ships in the acquisition program.

Your remit will be as broad as it is challenging. Key responsibilities may include but not be limited to; conducting ship inspections; liaising with customers, OEMs and staff to develop requirements and assessment of constraints; design documents; test procedures and test reports; supporting the agreed safety program.
