Job summary

L3Harris Technologies seeks a Systems Engineer to support the creation and review of contracted engineering outputs for a naval communications system upgrade from inception to commissioning.

The role involves collaborating with system designers and the client to provide timely and accurate engineering advice, reviews of technical documentation, and active participation in the V&V program to resolve issues and improve performance.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated relevant experience in the Systems Engineering Lifecycle.
  • Able and willing to obtain and hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1.
  • Detailed knowledge of RAN maritime communications systems, including radio, satellite, cryptographic equipment, networks and internal communication.
  • Degree in Communications/Electrical/Electronics/Systems Engineering or similar.
  • Meet the requirements for access to ITAR controlled technology and data.
  • Development of specifications, requirements, design, and test procedures.
  • Knowledge of the operation of communications equipment and systems.
  • Understanding of Configuration Management practices and procedures.

About the role

We are seeking a Systems Engineer tojoin us in supporting the creation and review of contracted engineering outputs of a communications system upgrade, on naval assets, from project inception right through to commissioning. The Systems Engineer will need to be comfortable and confident representing the company by working with system designers and the client/customer community to provide timely and accurate engineering advice.
