Job summary

Motion Recruitment seeks a Project Engineer in Melbourne (with Sydney-based consideration) to design, manage and commission complex electronic security systems from concept to handover. You will work on access control, CCTV, alarms and integrative platforms across major commercial projects.

The role requires hands-on experience with Genetec/Integriti and familiarity with Gallagher, plus strong IP networking skills and client-facing communication.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Project Engineer, Security Engineer, Commissioning Engineer or similar role within the electronic security industry.
• Hands-on experience with Genetec, Tecom and/or Inner Range Integriti.
• Experience with Gallagher is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of IP networking, including PoE, VLANs and IP addressing.
• Genuine interest in IT infrastructure and networking and how security systems operate within broader networks.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with commercial clients.

About the opportunity

A well-established electronic security integrator is looking for a Project Engineer to join its team, based in Melbourne, with Sydney-based candidates also being considered.

Working across large-scale commercial projects, you’ll be responsible for the technical design, management and commissioning of electronic security systems from initial concept through to final handover. The client base spans large shopping centres, grocery chains, education facilities and logistics environments, offering exposure to complex projects and enterprise-level security infrastructure.

This is a hands-on technical role suited to someone who understands both electronic security systems and the IT infrastructure that supports them. You’ll work closely with clients, project teams and technicians to ensure systems are designed effectively, delivered within budget and completed within agreed timeframes.
