Ofinac is an acoustical and mechanical engineering company delivering projects across industrial, commercial and defence sectors throughout Australia. We design and manufacture a wide range of products in-house, including acoustic enclosures, panels and doors, louvres and attenuators, fuel systems and exhaust systems, supported by our factory in Brooklyn and our own site teams.

The Project Engineer will own projects from design through delivery, producing drawings and managing from manufacture

Competenze

• Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years in engineering and project management with a mechanical background.

We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our office team and own projects from design through to delivery. You will design the solution we provide our clients with assistance as required, produce the drawings, then manage the job through manufacture, installation, commissioning and handover.

Key responsibilities

• Design and draft installations including enclosures, acoustic treatments, doors, and fuel and exhaust systems, to project requirements and relevant Australian Standards.
• Prepare and present drawings for approval by management and the client before commencement of manufacture.
• Produce manufacturing drawings and technical packages for the factory team.
• Project manage projects from receipt of order, through design, manufacture, installation and commissioning.
• Manage and develop relationships with project clients, ensuring contracts are delivered on time, within scope and on budget.
• Organise and control the manufacture of components for each part of the project, sourcing the best and most competitive solution that delivers the correct outcome.
• Liaise with site installation teams, providing guidance and technical direction on each project, and resolve design and installation issues on site.
• Attend local site visits as required, with rare interstate site visits.
• Coordinate with builders, consultants and suppliers, and manage RFIs, consultant reviews and approvals through to close out.
• Manage and control project costs to achieve on time and on budget delivery.

About you

• Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
• Current driver's licence
• Minimum 2 years in an engineering and project management role with a mechanical background (construction or mechanical industry preferred)
• Engineering and drafting through design and manufacture, with project management through to installation and commissioning
• AutoCAD and Inventor drafting required, SolidWorks also well regarded
• Mechanical engineer with a proficient understanding of mechanical services and power generation, and ideally acoustics
• Mechanical design and fabrication knowledge, and comfortable producing both client and fabrication drawings
• Ability to interpret solutions by providing clear technical information
• Excellent verbal and written communication, working well with consultants, builders and tradespeople
• Self-directed and organised
