Novatech Solutions in Victoria is seeking a qualified mechanical engineer with 3+ years in FMCG capital projects to contribute to multi-stage delivery. This role requires coordinating RFQs, design, installation and commissioning, plus developing detailed layouts and 3D models.
You will coordinate with clients, contractors and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution and compliant documentation. Qualification includes a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, white card, GMP/HACCP
Able to reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work.
Must be willing to travel to and from work 100% of the time.
Qualified mechanical engineer with 3+ years’ experience in FMCG industry and related capital engineering projects.
Experience supporting and coordinating multiple stages of capital project delivery, including scope development, RFQs, design, contractor coordination, installation, and commissioning.
Proficient in AutoCAD to assist with engineering drawings and layouts and can understand engineering drawings.
Experience developing detailed 3D mechanical/process plant models from process descriptions, concepts and 2D layouts.
Experience with equipment layouts, mechanical pipe routing and integration of new equipment into existing/brownfield facilities.
Experience using point-cloud data to develop accurate as-built 3D models for equipment positioning, pipe routing, clash identification and design development.
Ability to develop detailed engineering layouts and scopes that clearly define contractor requirements, assist with accurate pricing and minimise assumptions and variations during installation.
Experience with contractor coordination and management throughout fabrication and installation.
Experience supporting projects through installation, testing and commissioning, including troubleshooting, defect identification and close-out.
Ability to coordinate with clients, contractors, suppliers and other engineering disciplines throughout project delivery.
Proficient in MS Word and document writing for detailed Project Scoping, investigation reports, and SOP requirements to project manager level.
Good understanding of MS Projects for project timeline development.
Good understanding of MS Excel for data collection, manipulation and/or tracking.
Good understanding of MS Power Point for (Projects) presentation requirements
Ability to efficiently run project meetings at all levels i.e. Operators to Site leadership team
Can demonstrate a high level of communication skills and engagement at all levels.
Fully understands and is experienced in contractor management and can demonstrate past experiences.
Conversant in OH&S Act and safety requirements with projects at design, construction, and implementation.
Has attained their white (Construction) card.
A good understanding of GMP is essential and HACCP would be ideal.
Able to work on a regional site daily each week, approx. 1.5 hours from Melbourne.
Communicating with the Quality team regarding the Site changes and Company Standards.
Develop standard operating procedures for any new installation.
Investigate, review and present design and engineering factors for selection of specific equipment and materials for construction & installation on projects.
Reviewing and apply engineering standards to engineering projects such as understanding and reviewing applicable Australian Standards and other regulatory and statutory bodies with respect to all engineering projects.
Produce daily and weekly progress reports and communicate issues, risks, and dependencies with the senior management to minimise delays.
