Job summary

Built is seeking a Project Engineer in Canberra to coordinate technical and administrative delivery elements across commercial fitout, refurbishment and new construction projects.

You will work with experienced leaders to keep stakeholders aligned, progress projects safely and to high standards on site.

Qualifications

• Experience in project engineering or site engineering within commercial construction.
• Exposure to fitout or refurbishment projects is highly regarded.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Sound understanding of construction drawings, sequencing, buildability and quality processes.
• Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate RFIs, shop drawings, ITPs, submittals and engineering registers.
• Work with consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to resolve design and construction issues.
• Support procurement, short-term planning, sequencing and progress tracking.
• Drive quality through inspections, testing, reporting and close-out of defects.
• Communicate risks early and contribute practical solutions that keep delivery moving.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our Canberra team and help deliver commercial fitout, refurbishment and construction projects. Working with experienced project leaders, you will coordinate the technical and administrative aspects of delivery, keep key stakeholders aligned and help projects progress safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

What We Are Looking For

You are a proactive and hardworking construction professional who communicates clearly, builds strong working relationships and takes pride in delivering quality outcomes. You may already be a Project Engineer or a capable Site Engineer ready to step into broader project responsibilities.
