Job summary

Built is seeking a proactive Project Engineer to coordinate technical delivery, ensuring safety, quality and on-time construction across high-profile projects. You will work with Project Managers, Senior Project Engineers, consultants and subcontractors to link design and build, driving buildability and efficiency.

Applicants should have a Civil Engineering degree, 3+ years of experience in commercial construction, and strong knowledge of QA and procurement processes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Minimum 3+ years delivering commercial construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of buildability, sequencing and QA processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate RFIs, shop drawings, ITPs, and engineering documentation.
• Facilitate collaboration among consultants, subcontractors and site teams.
• Support procurement activities and ensure timely materials and packages.
• Monitor quality, safety, and compliance through inspections and testing.
• Mentor Site Engineers, Graduates and Cadets; foster team culture.
• Contribute to project outcomes with technical, commercial and leadership inputs.

The Opportunity

As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating the technical and engineering aspects of project delivery, ensuring construction activities are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to Built's high standards of quality. Working closely with Project Managers, Senior Project Engineers, consultants and subcontractors, you will be a key link between design and construction.

Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinating RFIs, shop drawings, ITPs, technical submissions and engineering documentation.
• Driving collaboration between consultants, subcontractors and site teams to resolve design and construction challenges.
• Supporting procurement activities and ensuring critical materials and subcontractor packages are delivered in line with project requirements.
• Monitoring quality, compliance and safety outcomes through inspections, testing, reporting and proactive risk management.
• Supporting and mentoring Site Engineers, Graduates and Cadets while contributing to a positive team culture.

What We Are Looking For

We're looking for a proactive and solutions-focused Project Engineer who enjoys collaborating with others and taking ownership of delivering quality outcomes.

You will bring:

• A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience delivering commercial construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, sequencing, buildability and quality assurance processes.
• Experience coordinating consultants, subcontractors and site teams across multiple work fronts.
• Well-developed communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Exposure to procurement, contract administration and cost control processes.
• Experience using project management and construction platforms such as Aconex, MS Project or Primavera.
• A strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
