Job summary

Built is a leading Australian construction company delivering diverse projects across the region. We are seeking a Services Engineer to efficiently coordinate building services components and liaise with design, subcontractors and the project team to meet objectives.

You will support mechanical, fire, and other services design and operations, manage documentation, and help plan procurement and schedules. A strong background in building commissioning and handover is essential.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or equivalent services trade.
• Solid experience in building and construction industry in roles preceding Project Engineer (ideal).
• Demonstrated understanding of the principles of building commissioning and handover.

Responsibilities

• Subcontractor & documentation coordination – managing subcontractor submissions, negotiations, insurance claims, and services documentation.
• Contract compliance & completion – ensuring pre-completion activities, certificates and head contractor obligations are met.
• Design & installation support – supporting Services Manager across mechanical, fire, and left services design and operations, plus programme/procurement planning.
• Variation & progress claim review – evaluating contract service variations and reviewing subcontractor progress claims with the project team.
• Subcontractor performance management – monitoring performance, developing systems/procedures, liaising with authorities, clients and consultants.

The Opportunity

As the Services Engineer you will efficiently coordinate the building services components and associated works of building projects. You will provide a link between design, building services and sub-contractors to ensure projects objectives are met.

Here’s what a typical day might look like for you:

• Subcontractor & documentation coordination – Managing subcontractor submissions, negotiations, insurance claims, and services documentation
• Contract compliance & completion – Ensuring pre-completion activities, certificates and head contractor obligations (OH&S, energy, efficiency, green credentials) are met
• Design & installation support – Supporting the Services Manager across mechanical, fire, and left services design and operations, plus programme/ procurement planning
• Variation & progress claim review – Evaluating contract service variations and reviewing subcontractor progress claims with the project team
• Subcontractor performance management - Monitoring performance, developing systems/ procedures, and liaising with authorities, clients, and consultants

This is a key role that will partner with our project teams in understanding and solving service coordination complexities, whilst offering improvements to process where needed.

• Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or equivalent services trade
