Job summary

Fulton Hogan Ltd. is seeking a Project Engineer for the South East Queensland Utilities team, supporting long-term watermain renewal programs in Brisbane.

You will develop shutdown plans, methodologies, and assist with field implementation and project close-out, working with the Project Manager on day-to-day delivery and planning. The ideal candidate has experience in watermain works and a strong ability to plan, coordinate, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in watermain renewals and shutdown planning is essential.
  • Experience with water authority networks and Urban Utilities projects is desirable.
  • Strong planning, coordination, and problem-solving abilities are required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop & provide input into detailed watermain shutdown plans for renewals and tie-ins.
  • Manage life cycle of shutdown planning including trial shutdowns and close-outs.
  • Coordinate with Urban Utilities, internal teams, and subcontractors on isolation points and sequencing.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to shutdowns including customer impact and safety.
  • Prepare ITPs, SWMS, and other project documentation for shutdown activities.
  • Track shutdown performance and lessons learned to improve future planning.
  • Coordinate after-hours and weekend shutdowns as required.

We are seeking a **Project Engineer**to support the team by developing shutdown plans, and methodologies and assisting with implementation and close out in the field along with assisting the Project Manager with day‐to‐day delivery and planning.This role suits a professional with experience in watermain renewal works and exposure to water authority networks and who enjoys detailed planning, coordination and problem solving in a fast‐paced environment.**In this role you'll be responsible for:*** Develop & provide input into detailed watermain shutdown plans for renewals, tie‐ins and cut‐ins* Manage overall life cycle of shut planning including preparation of trial shut plans, trial shut plan close out, works delivery shutdowns and close out* Coordinate with Urban Utilities, internal construction teams subcontractors and other stakeholders to confirm isolation points, impacts and sequencing* Identify and mitigate risks associated with shutdowns, including customer impacts, service continuity, safety and environmental risks* Support preparation of ITPs, SWMS and other project documentation relevant to shutdown activities* Track and report on shutdown performance, constraints and lessons learned to improve future planning* Help coordinate after‐hours and weekend shutdowns as required by the program.**How you'll connect to the role:*** Experience in watermain works (renewals, new mains, tie‐ins, cut‐overs or similar)* Experience working with or for a water authority (e.g. managing water networks, shutdowns, customer impacts or maintenance activities).
