Job summary

Light Project is seeking an experienced Project Coordinator to join our project team overseeing lighting design and supply from specification through to delivery on major commercial, hospitality, residential and architectural projects.

You will coordinate multiple commercial lighting projects from order through final delivery, working with builders, electricians, consultants, clients and suppliers; read plans and schedules; and ensure procurement and deliveries align with on-site progress.

Qualifications

Job description

Light Project is looking for an experienced Project Coordinator to join our project team. We work on major commercial, hospitality, residential and architectural projects, providing lighting design and supply from specification through to delivery. This is a hands-on coordination role for someone who understands how construction projects work and enjoys keeping projects, people and deliveries organised.

You will coordinate multiple commercial lighting projects from order through to final delivery, working closely with builders, electricians, consultants, clients, suppliers and our internal team.

A key part of the role is understanding the construction program and making sure our procurement and deliveries are aligned with what is happening on site.

You will:

• Coordinate multiple commercial lighting projects and their delivery schedules
• Read architectural and electrical plans, specifications and lighting schedules
• Review builder construction programs and understand key milestones and required-on-site dates
• Coordinate procurement, manufacturing, freight and long-lead items
• Manage staged deliveries in line with site requirements
• Coordinate product information, samples, approvals and supplier documentation
• Communicate regularly with builders, electricians, clients and suppliers
• Attend project and site meetings where required
• Identify potential delays or supply issues early and help resolve them
• Maintain accurate project and order information in NetSuite

About you

We are looking for someone with experience in commercial construction, project coordination, lighting, electrical or building-product supply.

You will need to be comfortable reading plans and construction programs and understand the importance of lead times, sequencing and delivery dates on a live construction project.

You will ideally have

• At least 2 years' experience in a project coordination or similar construction-related role
• Ability to read and interpret architectural or electrical plans
• Understanding of construction programs, site sequencing and delivery schedules
• Experience with construction program or project scheduling software
• Strong organisation and attention to detail
• Confidence dealing directly with builders, clients, consultants and suppliers
• The ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines
• A proactive approach - you follow things up and identify issues before they become problems
• Experience in lighting, electrical or building products would be highly regarded, as would experience with NetSuite or another ERP system.
