Job summary

ATCO Structures & Logistics on the Gold Coast is seeking an experienced Project Controls Lead to drive planning, scheduling, forecasting and performance reporting across major projects in Australia. You will lead controls initiatives and coordinate with project teams to ensure successful delivery.

Role focuses on implementing Earned Value Management, developing integrated schedules and dashboards, and mentoring controls personnel while collaborating with stakeholders to hit contractual

Qualifications

• Experience leading project controls on large-scale projects.
• Strong understanding of schedule, cost, resources and risk.
• Ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Experience in EPC/EPCM or Design & Construct environments is advantageous.

About the Role

As our Project Controls Lead, you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining robust project controls systems that provide clear visibility across schedule, cost, productivity, resources and project risk.

Working closely with project leadership, commercial teams and clients, you'll lead planning and performance reporting activities, ensuring accurate forecasting, transparent reporting and early identification of issues that could impact successful project delivery.

This is an opportunity to have genuine influence across the project lifecycle, from initial planning and mobilisation through to execution and completion.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead the development and implementation of project controls frameworks, systems and governance processes.
• Develop and maintain integrated project schedules, baselines and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
• Lead planning, scheduling, progress measurement and reporting across all project phases.
• Monitor project performance against schedule, cost, productivity and resource targets.
• Prepare and maintain cost, resource, cash flow and completion forecasts.
• Implement Earned Value Management (EVM) and performance measurement methodologies.
• Analyse project data, trends, risks and opportunities to support informed decision-making.
• Develop dashboards, KPIs and performance reports for internal and client stakeholders.
• Partner with project delivery, commercial and client teams to achieve project milestones and contractual outcomes.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to project controls personnel while driving continuous improvement.

About You

You're an experienced Project Controls professional with a strong understanding of complex, large-scale project environments and the ability to turn project data into meaningful insights.

You'll bring:

• Advanced Primavera P6 scheduling experience.
• Demonstrated experience in project planning, scheduling, forecasting and performance reporting.
• Strong knowledge of cost control, resource planning and progress measurement.
• Experience applying Earned Value Management (EVM) methodologies.
• Advanced Excel and reporting capabilities, including dashboard development and performance analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• The ability to influence project outcomes through clear, data-driven recommendations.
• Experience working across major mining, energy, oil & gas, infrastructure or modular construction projects will be highly regarded, particularly within EPC, EPCM or Design & Construct environments.
• Experience with quantity-based progress measurement, earned-hour methodologies, brownfield or greenfield projects, contract administration or project commercial management will also be advantageous.
