Job summary

Performance Drivers is seeking an experienced Program Manager to own a portfolio of complex projects in Canberra within a secure government construction environment. The role requires an NV1 security clearance or the ability to obtain one.

You will report to the Project Director and lead end-to-end delivery, driving commercial performance and building a capable delivery team. Key responsibilities include governance, multi-work stream coordination, and stakeholder engagement with government

Qualifications

• 7+ years’ program or project management experience in construction/electrical/building electronics or related environments.

Responsibilities

• Establish program governance with plans, milestones, risk/issue registers, and reporting to client/leadership.
• Coordinate with site stakeholders and subcontractors to ensure compliance and timely progress.
• Own program revenue, gross margin, cost-to-complete, cash flow and forecasting.
• Identify changes/variations, extensions of time and claims; manage progress claims.
• Develop and lead the delivery team including engineers and project staff.
• Ensure compliance with security requirements, WHS and contractual obligations.
• Act as senior point of contact for Government client and stakeholders.

Job description

Are you an experienced Program Manager with a background in construction, electrical, ICT or electronic security projects? This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a portfolio of complex projects across ACT within a secure government construction environment.

This role requires an existing NV1 security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 clearance.

Reporting to the Project Director, you'll lead delivery end to end, own the program's commercial performance, and build and develop the team around you.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead end-to-end delivery across multiple concurrent work streams, from planning and procurement through installation, commissioning, client acceptance and handover

Establish program governance: plans, programmes, milestones, risk and dependency registers, and reporting to the client and leadership

Integrate works with the wider site program, sequencing and access windows, working alongside other contractors and site stakeholders

Own program revenue, gross margin, cost-to-complete, cash flow, procurement and forecasting

Identify, price and manage variations, extensions of time and claims, and ensure progress claims are accurate and timely

Lead and develop the delivery team, including engineers, an Assistant Project Manager and technicians

Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, making sure they are qualified, licensed, cleared and inducted

Ensure compliance with security, WHS, quality and contractual requirements

Act as senior point of contact for the Government client and key stakeholders

What You’ll Bring:

• Current NV1 security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 clearance
• Minimum 7 years' project or program management experience across construction, electrical, building electronics, building management systems or related environments
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects within a construction or head contractor environment
• Strong commercial and contract management capability, including budgets, variations, claims and forecasting
• Experience working within government, Defence, critical infrastructure or other high-security environments
• Strong understanding of construction delivery, building management and access systems, or related technical services
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills
• Strong leadership capability with the ability to manage project teams and subcontractors
• Current Australian Driver's Licence

Highly regarded:

knowledge of PSPF and SCEC/ASIO-T4; AIPM membership or PMBOK/PRINCE2; a relevant tertiary qualification.
