Job summary

Performance Drivers is forming a Canberra-based, on-site project team to deliver secure government installation works. The role offers mentoring to progress to Project Engineer, with a clear path within a permanent, full-time team.

Australian citizenship and NV1 clearance are essential. You’ll support delivery from planning through installation, commissioning, acceptance and handover, working closely with senior leadership and multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Must have Australian citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain NV1 clearance.
• 3+ years in project engineer, assistant PM, project coordination or similar.
• Experience on ICT, electrical or comparable technical-services projects.
• Strong grasp of project budgeting, forecasting and variations.
• Excellent planning, organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Current driver’s licence; police check and probity screening.
• Experience on government/defense/high-security projects is highly regarded.

Ready to step up into project management, with the mentoring to get you there? Our client is building a new delivery team in Canberra to deliver installation works in a secure government construction environment. They're looking for a Project Engineer to grow with the team.

This is a permanent, full-time role based fully on-site in Canberra. Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 security clearance are essential.

You'll support delivery from planning and mobilisation through installation, commissioning, client acceptance and handover. You'll work closely with senior project leadership, engineers, technicians, subcontractors, the head contractor and the client.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support end-to-end delivery of electronic security work packages
• Help develop and maintain project plans, programmes, milestones and resource plans
• Coordinate site activities, installation, commissioning and close-out

What You'll Bring:

• Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 clearance
• 3+ years' experience as a project engineer, assistant project manager, project coordination or in a similar project delivery role
• Experience on ICT, electri cal or comparable technical-services projects
• A solid grasp of project commercials, including budgets, forecasting and variations
• Strong planning and organisational skills, with real attention to detail
• The confidence to work alongside strong-willed trades on a fast-paced construction site
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Current driver's licence, plus a satisfactory National Police Check and probity screening
• Highly regarded: experience on government, Defence, critical infrastructure or high-security projects; a current security licence (or the ability to obtain one after appointment). experience in building services, fire protection or access management.
