Job summary

Brisbane Catholic Education, Beaudesert, is seeking a Program Leader (Professional Practice) to lead high-quality teaching, support staff development and drive continuous improvement in classroom practice at McAuley College. The role requires leadership experience in Catholic education, program supervision, budget management, and strong collaboration with students, parents and external partners.

Qualifications

• Eligibility to work within Australia for the period of appointment.
• Be a committed, practicing Catholic, or in an ecumenical school, a committed, practicing member of one of the faith traditions represented in that ecumenical school.
• Experience in school leadership or in roles providing support/leadership to Catholic schools.
• Demonstrated experience leading academic, cultural, outreach, or sporting programs.
• Proven ability to supervise and support teaching staff across a school setting.
• Strong organisational skills to coordinate program logistics, resources, and operations.
• Excellent communication skills with students, parents, staff and external partners.
• Capacity to build and maintain partnerships with external organisations to enhance program outcomes.
• Commitment to the values and ethos of the school in all aspects of program leadership.
• Ability to lead professional learning aligned with current best practices and research.
• Active contribution to school leadership through participation in staff and leadership meetings.
• Competence in managing budgets and material resources responsibly.

Responsibilities

• Lead the designated program in the school.
• Supervise teachers engaged in the program throughout the school.
• Induct new teachers within the program (or supervise the induction where it is undertaken by another experienced teacher).
• Monitor program outcomes for students and address areas of concern through appropriate interventions.
• Coordinate the work of staff engaged in delivering the designated program in the light of the values and ethos of the school.
• Regularly communicate with stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of the program.
• Keep abreast of best practice in the program area through ongoing professional reading and research.
• Contribute to the leadership of the school through participation in staff and middle leadership meetings.
• Manage financial and material resources within the area of responsibility including the formulation of budgets and the expenditure of allocated funds.
