Job summary

Compassion Australia is seeking a Program Experience Specialist to coordinate supporter trips and visits to overseas programs, partnering with Compassion International to connect sponsorship opportunities.

You'll equip our Australian Partnership team with timely opportunities, manage logistics, budgets and safety standards, and collaborate across churches, schools and major givers to broaden engagement and impact. Hybrid work from anywhere on the East Coast preferred.

About the Role

As Program Experience Specialist, you'll bring supporters closer to Compassion's work overseas by coordinating immersive trips and visits, while working with Compassion International to source and coordinate sponsorship and critical needs opportunities.

You'll make sure our Church, School and Major Giver Partnership Managers have the right opportunities and information to communicate with supporters and connect them with opportunities to make an impact. The role reports to the
Program Experience Lead.

Key Accountabilities

This is a varied role with two key focuses; creating great experiences for supporters visiting Compassion's programs overseas and making sure our Partnership team has the right fundraising opportunities available to share with supporters.

Planning supporter trips and visits

You'll coordinate meaningful, well-organised trips that give supporters the opportunity to experience Compassion's work firsthand. This is the supporter-facing side of the role, so you'll be communicating directly with supporters and supporting them throughout their experience. You'll:

• Plan itineraries and coordinate logistics for supporter visits and group trips for churches, schools and key leaders
• Work with Compassion International and in-country teams to deliver safe, meaningful experiences
• Manage trip budgets, travel, accommodation and activities
• Build relationships with local and international partners
• Uphold health, safety and child protection standards
• Have the opportunity to lead overseas trips, with training provided

Connecting global opportunities with Australian fundraising

Behind the scenes, you'll work with our international teams to identify and coordinate sponsorship and critical needs opportunities, making sure they're ready for our Australian Partnership team to offer to supporters. You'll:

• Work with Compassion International to identify and secure critical needs funding and children available for sponsorship, then coordinate bringing these opportunities into Australia
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records so our Partnership team can easily see which children and opportunities are available to supporters
• Monitor and follow up on urgent or time-sensitive opportunities to ensure nothing is missed
• Participate in global planning meetings with Compassion's international offices
• Help shape fundraising strategy across our church, school and major giver programs by forecasting supply and demand and ensuring the right opportunities are available when needed

What you'll bring

• Strong communication, relationship-building and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and project manage
• Comfortable working across cultures, with a strong commitment to cultural sensitivity
• Experience in trip coordination, travel planning, event management or similar
• Familiarity with CRM, database and project management tools, including Salesforce, Teams, Zoom and Asana
• Understanding of child protection, risk management and global development
• Experience in the Christian or NFP sector is desirable
• A relevant tertiary qualification such as tourism, hospitality, international development or business administration, or equivalent work experience, is desirable
