Job summary

Queensland Government's Transport and Main Roads team in Mackay or Rockhampton is seeking Program Engagement Officers to support major transport and road infrastructure programs across Central Queensland. You will engage with communities, stakeholders and decision-makers to ensure people are informed and connected throughout project lifecycles.

You will develop engagement plans, create newsletters and digital content, prepare briefings, support public consultations and contribute to media

Qualifications

• Strong written communication and content development skills.
• Experience in stakeholder engagement, communications, customer relations or a related field.
• Ability to analyse information and prepare clear, concise correspondence and briefing material.
• Sound judgement, initiative and a commitment to delivering positive community outcomes.
• Collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement communication and community engagement plans for infrastructure projects.
• Create clear, accurate and engaging content including newsletters, flyers, roadworks notifications, digital content and stakeholder communications.
• Research and prepare ministerial briefings, executive correspondence and responses to community enquiries.
• Support public consultation activities and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
• Prepare media materials and contribute to social media and communication campaigns.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with community members, project teams, local organisations, elected representatives and other stakeholders.
• Ensure information and records are managed appropriately in line with departmental requirements.

Help connect communities with projects that matterTransport and Main Roads is seeking enthusiastic and capable Program Engagement Officers to join our Customer and Stakeholder Management team in Mackay or Rockhampton.This is an opportunity to use your communication, engagement and relationship building skills to support the delivery of major transport and road infrastructure programs across Central Queensland. You'll work closely with project teams, community members, stakeholders and decision-makers to ensure people are informed, engaged and connected throughout the life of important infrastructure projects. As part of a supportive and collaborative team, you'll contribute to the delivery of the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP), helping communicate the benefits, impacts and progress of projects that shape the future of our region.

What you'll be doing
