Job summary

Orange Local Aboriginal Land Council (OLALC) is a community-led Aboriginal organisation delivering Designing Futures and Supported Playgroup programs for children, young people and families in Orange NSW. We seek a passionate Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person to deliver hands-on, culturally safe activities that strengthen education engagement and early learning foundations.

Qualifications

• Strong connection to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community.
• Experience working with children and/or young people in community, school, cultural or recreational settings.
• Willingness to obtain required checks (WWC, National Criminal Record) and driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver workshops, activities, and school holiday programs.
• Deliver supported playgroup sessions for children 0–5 and families.
• Build respectful relationships with children, families and community.
• Provide supervision and guidance during activities.
• Set up, facilitate, and pack down program activities and events.
• Support safe transport of children and young people as per policies.
• Create safe, engaging, culturally appropriate environments for all participants.

• Deliver supported playgroup sessions for children aged 0-5 and their families

• Build strong, respectful relationships with children, young people, families, and community

• Provide supervision, encouragement, and guidance during activities

• Set up, facilitate, and pack down program activities and events

• Support safe transport of children and young people (in line with policies)

• Create safe, engaging, and culturally appropriate environments for all participants

About You

You are passionate about supporting Aboriginal children, young people, and families and are committed to creating positive outcomes in community.

To be successful, you will have:

• A strong connection to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community

• Experience working with children and/or young people (community, school, cultural or recreational settings)

• Minimum Certificate III in Early Childhood Education OR relevant experience

• Ability to build trust and engage respectfully with families and community

• Good communication and teamwork skills

• Reliability, flexibility, and willingness to learn

• Understanding of issues impacting Aboriginal children, young people, and families

Requirements

• Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)

• National Criminal Record Check (or willingness to obtain)

• Current C Class Driver's Licence
