Job summary

Atlas Tanks – Moffat Beach on the Sunshine Coast is seeking a reliable, practical and mechanically minded person for a hands-on Production & Moulding Technician role. Work 9.5 hours per day, Monday to Thursday, with Fridays off and overtime available as needed.

The role focuses 80% on tank moulding, with QA, finishing and dispatch duties, plus opportunities to learn plastic fabrication. Prior tank manufacturing experience is not essential.

Responsibilities

We’re looking for a reliable, practical and mechanically minded person to join our manufacturing team at Moffat Beach on the Sunshine Coast.

Atlas Tanks is an Australian manufacturer of custom moulded and fabricated tanks for the marine, caravan, RV and industrial sectors.

We’re looking for a reliable, practical and mechanically minded person to join our manufacturing team at Moffat Beach on the Sunshine Coast.

4-Day Working Week

Work Monday to Thursday, 9.5 hours per day, with every Friday, Saturday and Sunday off.

Overtime is available when production demand requires.

About the Role

This is primarily a hands‑on production and moulding position, with approximately 80% of the working day focused on our tank moulding process.

The balance of the role includes quality assurance, finishing and dispatch, with opportunities to develop skills in custom plastic fabrication.

Previous tank manufacturing or plastic fabrication experience is not essential. We’re more interested in finding someone with good practical ability, a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

• Working within our tank moulding production process
• Preparing moulds and materials for production
• Removing, finishing and preparing completed tanks
• Inspecting finished products and completing QA checks
• Pressure testing and verifying products prior to dispatch
• Checking dimensions, fittings and specifications against customer orders
• Packing, wrapping and preparing finished products for freight
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised production area
• Identifying production or quality issues before products leave the factory
• General workshop and production duties as required

There will also be opportunities to learn and assist with:

• Custom plastic fabrication
• Plastic welding
• Installing fittings and associated components
• Reading drawings and manufacturing from customer specifications
• General fabrication and practical problem solving

About You

You don’t need to come from the plastics industry.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is reliable and punctual
• Has a strong work ethic and is comfortable with a physical day’s work
• Is practical and mechanically minded
• Can confidently use basic hand and power tools
• Can accurately measure and follow instructions
• Has strong attention to detail
• Takes responsibility for the quality of their work
• Can work independently once trained
• Works well as part of a small team
• Is willing to learn and take on additional responsibilities
• Will speak up when something doesn’t look right
• Is prepared to help wherever required to get the job completed

Experience in manufacturing, moulding, fabrication, automotive, mechanical, caravan/RV, marine, construction or another hands‑on environment would be highly regarded.
