Job summary

WallBeds Australia is seeking an experienced Production Manager or an Operations/Project Manager with transferable skills to lead the Queanbeyan manufacturing facility. This hands-on role blends 80% office planning and 20% factory floor involvement to keep production moving.

The position emphasizes managing production schedules, orders, documentation and priorities while maintaining a regular presence on the factory floor and solving issues at the source to meet dispatch dates.

Qualifications

• Experience in production/operations/project management or similar leadership role.
• Strong planning, scheduling and organisational skills.
• Experience coordinating employees, suppliers, materials and deadlines.
• Able to lead a production team and hold people accountable.

Responsibilities

• Review incoming factory orders and confirm readiness for production.
• Prepare and manage daily, weekly, and forward production schedules.
• Allocate staff, machinery, and resources by production priorities.
• Monitor work in progress and ensure on-time dispatch.
• Identify delays and bottlenecks before they affect delivery.
• Provide clear daily direction to factory employees.
• Maintain regular presence on the factory floor.
• Resolve manufacturing and technical issues with staff.
• Oversee quality control across machining, edging, assembly, packing, and dispatch.
• Investigate manufacturing errors and implement corrective action.
• Identify and implement improvements to systems and processes.
• Promote safe working practices and WHS compliance.
• Assist with staff training and performance development.
