Job summary

H People presents a permanent opportunity at a Brisbane-area plant to lead a small prep team in steel production. You will coordinate up to six operators, plan prep two days ahead, operate the spiral line, load materials, and ensure safety, quality, and housekeeping standards are met.

The role also involves stepping in as Team Leader when required. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in steel production, proven people-management experience, and forklift/crane skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of production experience in steel or related industry.
• Experience organising people, as a leading hand, 2IC or senior operator who runs the floor.
• Forklift licence and overhead crane experience.
• Organised and decisive, and happy to make the call on what gets made and when.
• Flexible to cover shifts in busy periods.
• Able to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing.

About the business

Our client is a global manufacturer of steel building products, with a long-established factory in Eagle Farm. It's a settled, close-knit site with low turnover, new machinery coming in, and managers who back their people with training. H People is exclusively partnered with them on this appointment.

The role

You’ll run the prep area that feeds the roller door line, making sure springs, axles and components are ready on time so the next team can hit its targets.
