Job summary

WP Engine is seeking a Production Engineer to apply a Site Reliability Engineering mindset, building and maintaining scalable, production-grade systems. You will work in a hybrid environment leveraging virtual machines, containers and serverless tech to support hundreds of thousands of customer sites globally.

You will monitor, optimize, and automate across GCP/AWS, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, high-performance platforms and an elite customer experience.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of software engineering, DevOps or SRE experience at internet scale.
• Strong system architecture understanding and microservices.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker in public clouds.
• Proficiency in Python and Go; scripting ability is essential.
• Familiarity with Linux, Nginx/Apache, MySQL and PHP.
• Hands-on observability: metrics, monitoring, alerts, RCA.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, alert, investigate, and resolve production infra challenges across clouds.
• Identify automation opportunities to reduce toil and optimize pipelines.
• Participate in incident response and root cause analysis.
• Execute changes and deployments with a focus on security.
• Collaborate with teams to align solutions with roadmaps.
