Job summary

Jobgether, acting on behalf of a partner company in Australia, seeks a Senior Production Engineer to build and operate resilient platforms at internet scale. You will lead engineers applying SRE practices to improve reliability, performance, and security across hybrid cloud, containers, and serverless tech.

You will mentor teams, handle incidents, automate toil, and collaborate with product leaders to align roadmaps with execution while maintaining high operational standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering/DevOps/SRE experience with production systems.
• Strong background in distributed, self-healing infrastructure and microservices.
• Kubernetes and Docker in public cloud deployments.
• Programming and automation with Python and Go; scripting skills.
• Experience with Linux, Nginx/Apache, MySQL, PHP and automation tools.
• Infrastructure as Code using Ansible and Terraform.
• Observability with metrics, logging, and alerting (Prometheus/EFK).
• Analytical, proactive, and collaborative across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead a culture focused on reliability, performance, security, and scalability.
• Manage production infra across AWS and GCP, handle incidents.
• Automate repetitive tasks to reduce toil and improve efficiency.
• Coordinate during incidents and drive effective resolutions.
• Analyze trends and implement structural improvements to prevent issues.
• Execute deployments, security changes, and patching with risk focus.
• Design and maintain distributed systems and self-healing infra.
• Align technical initiatives with product roadmaps and leadership.
• Mentor engineers and foster continuous learning.
