Job summary

Origin Energy in Brisbane is seeking a Production Engineer to join the team for a 12-month engagement to November 2027. You will turn well data into smart decisions, lift production and contribute to field improvements with regular site travel.

You will work with the Reedy Creek, Combabula & Peat team to optimise gas production, with responsibilities spanning reliability, forecasting, and safety compliance across wells.

Qualifications

• A degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field.
• Experience upstream oil and gas, including CSG subsurface work.
• Experience with artificial lift (PCP or rod pumps) or reservoir engineering.
• Ability to turn large data volumes into clear actions.
• Collaborative style and ability to juggle multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Keep wells running by improving pump and completion reliability.
• Unlock more gas by spotting, ranking and delivering production uplift opportunities.
• Set the playbook by shaping operating guidelines for field decisions.
• Sharpen the forecast by working with reservoir engineers on monthly forecasts and well reviews.
• Protect assets by ensuring wells stay safe, compliant and performing.
