Job summary

Glencore’s McArthur River Mine (MRM) is recruiting for a qualified drill operator to safely run blast hole rigs and support blasting teams on site in the Gulf of Carpentaria. You will execute drilling plans, monitor ground conditions, perform pre-start checks and maintain logs.

The role requires experience on listed rigs, a current HR licence, RII competencies, and a collaborative approach. We offer a safety‑driven team, ongoing training, 13% superannuation, and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

Experience operating one or more listed drill rigs.
Experience in hard rock mining environments is highly regarded.
RII competencies and/or training transcripts must be provided.

Responsibilities

Operate blast hole drill rigs in a safe and efficient manner
Execute drilling activities in line with drill plans and production schedules
Monitor ground conditions and adjust drilling parameters as required
Conduct pre-start inspections and routine maintenance checks
Maintain accurate drilling logs and report any issues or hazards
Ensure compliance with site safety standards, procedures, and environmental requirements
Work collaboratively with blast crew, mining production, supervisors, and other site personnel
