Job summary

Glencore McArthur River Mine is seeking experienced drill operators to safely run blast hole rigs, align with drill plans, and monitor ground conditions at the mine site. You will perform pre-start checks, maintain logs, and uphold safety and environmental standards while collaborating with the blast crew and production teams.

Desirable tickets include HR licence, RII competencies, and equipment handling such as forklift and telehandler. A team-focused, safety-driven approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating drill rigs such as Epiroc D65, DML, Pit Viper; Vermeer HDD drill is highly regarded.
• Experience on other drill rigs or heavy mining equipment is transferable.
• Current Open Driver’s Licence (HR desirable).
• Experience in hard rock environments is highly regarded.
• Strong understanding of drilling safety, hazard identification, and site procedures.
• Current RII competencies and/or training transcripts must be provided.
• Riggers/Doggers ticket, Forklift, Telehandler, Non Slew Crane are advantageous.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and follow operational plans.

Responsibilities

• Operate blast hole drill rigs in a safe and efficient manner.
• Execute drilling activities in line with drill plans and production schedules.
• Monitor ground conditions and adjust drilling parameters as required.
• Conduct pre-start inspections and routine maintenance checks.
• Maintain accurate drilling logs and report any issues or hazards.
• Ensure compliance with site safety standards, procedures, and environmental requirements.
• Work collaboratively with blast crew, mining production, supervisors, and other site personnel.
