Job summary

Nasdaq, Inc. is seeking an Application Support Engineer in Sydney to join our Systems Operations team.

You will provide hands-on operational support for critical Nasdaq applications and data-processing services, primarily in Linux/Unix environments, monitoring production systems, handling alerts, and ensuring SLA compliance. You will work with global teams, troubleshoot across OS, storage, and network layers, and contribute to runbooks and knowledge-base documentation while participating in

Qualifications

Bachelor-level degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
3+ years in application support, operations, or trading tech environment.
Strong Linux/Unix, log analysis, Bash scripting basics.
Ability to troubleshoot across OS, storage, network layers and components.
Experience with monitoring, incident-management and change-management processes.

Responsibilities

Operate and support critical production applications and data-processing services in Linux/Unix.
Perform real-time monitoring of application health, data flows, batch processing, alerts and service availability.
Investigate alerts and production issues, restore services and escalate when needed.
Own operational tickets from investigation to closure with clear status updates.
Monitor end-to-end data workflows including file transfers and data transformation.
Execute startup, shutdown, recovery, scheduling, backups, and reprocessing procedures.
Perform approved production deployments and changes using Change Management.
