Job summary

ASX Group in Sydney is seeking a hands-on engineer for the Futures Trading Technology Platforms Team. You will build and support critical markets infrastructure for the ASX 24 Futures Exchange, in Linux environments and across on‑premises and cloud setups.

You will write Shell and Python/Perl scripts, perform L3 production support, and contribute to data engineering standards. The role requires low-latency trading experience, network and database skills, and familiarity with cloud and data lake

Qualifications

• Hands-on engineer with deep experience in low latency electronic trading environments.
• Experience supporting complex trading systems in Linux.
• Shell/Python/Perl scripting experience.
• Strong understanding of network fundamentals and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of relational databases.
• Experience with public or private cloud environments and virtualization concepts.
• Experience with packet capture tools such as Corvil.
• Experience with data warehouses and data lakes.

Responsibilities

• Build and support critical markets infrastructure for the ASX 24 Futures Exchange.
• Support a mix of vendor and in-house trading software in Linux environments; perform build activities and provide L3 production support.
• Develop automation tooling using shell scripting or Python/Perl.
• Troubleshoot server, network or relational database related issues.
• Contribute to a data engineering practice and drive standardisation.
• Perform non-functional testing in QA environments.
• Work in both On-Premises and Cloud environments.
