Job summary

Century is seeking an experienced Producer – Special Events to lead planning and delivery of key events across the Sydney Comedy Festival and Perth Comedy Festival. The role takes ownership from planning through to settlement, collaborating with programming, marketing, ticketing, production, operations and finance teams.

Based in Century’s Sydney office, this full‑time role requires hands‑on event lifecycle management, budgeting, negotiation and strong stakeholder relationships, with interstate

Qualifications

• 2–3 years’ experience producing or managing live events, festivals or similar roles.
• Excellent organisation and project management with attention to detail and deadlines.
• Experience in event ticketing: builds, inventory management and sales monitoring.
• Experience in event marketing with digital, social and live-event activity.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, reconciliation and event settlement skills.
• Confident negotiating with venues, suppliers and contractors.
• Strong understanding of event logistics, production, staffing, and operational requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Commercial awareness balancing audience experience and financial outcomes.
• Problem solving, adaptability and fast-paced decision making.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned special events from planning to on-ground delivery and post-event wrap-up.
• Set up and manage ticketing requirements, pricing, builds and holds.
• Collaborate with marketing to develop event campaigns and assets.
• Coordinate venues, technical production, staging, AV, lighting and security.
• Oversee event-day management including staff, suppliers and artists.
• Create and manage event budgets, monitor income and expenditure.
• Negotiate terms with venues, suppliers and partners.
• Handle post-event settlements and reconciliations.
• Maintain relationships with internal teams, venues, artists and contractors.
• Manage risk, WHS compliance and emergency planning.
• Contribute ideas to evolve existing events and explore new opportunities.
• Coordinate cross-festival delivery across Sydney and Perth festivals.
