Job summary

FMS Field Mining Services Group in Mackay is seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer to join our small but dynamic office team. You will raise purchase orders, monitor outstanding orders and coordinate with staff to ensure timely delivery and accurate goods receipts.

You’ll build strong relationships with suppliers, maintain the SDS database and support purchasing and warehouse operations across site requirements. A proactive, detail‑oriented approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing or procurement administration.
• Ability to raise and manage purchase orders and coordinate with suppliers.
• Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Raising purchase orders and distributing them to suppliers.
• Monitoring outstanding orders and following up for timely delivery.
• Checking goods received against purchase orders and addressing discrepancies.
• Coordinating with staff to ensure goods are received, stored and managed correctly.
• Maintaining the SDS database and updating records as required.
• Ensuring goods ordered meet site and project requirements.
• Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers.
• Providing purchasing and administrative support to the wider team.
• Keeping purchasing records accurate and up to date.
