Job summary

Glencore is seeking a Purchasing Officer to join our open-cut operation in Queensland. You will support safe, cost-effective procurement for a large mining operation, and maintain ERP records to ensure accuracy.

You will liaise with internal stakeholders, process requisitions, update purchase orders, expedite overdue orders, and reconcile supplier invoices while delivering end-user support. This role offers career progression within a global mining organisation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in a purchasing, supply chain, or procurement role, ideally in mining, manufacturing, or heavy industry.
• Certificate III/IV in Procurement, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Experience using ERP systems and purchasing workflows.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions and convert to purchase orders; update orders and expedite overdue ones.
• Reconcile supplier invoices and liaise with internal stakeholders on requirements.
• Maintain accurate procurement records within ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and provide end-user support.

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Purchasing Officer to join our dynamic and successful team. As a key member of the team and reporting directly to the Procurement Coordinator, this multifaceted role will see you responsible for:

• Providing safe and cost-effective procurement services that supports a sustainable mining operation.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records within ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to clarify purchasing requirements and ensure timely delivery of goods/services.
• Daily activities include purchase requisition conversion, purchase order updating, overdue order expediting, invoice reconciliation, supplier liaison and end-user support.

About The Candidate

The successful candidate will bring the following skills and experience to the role:

• Certificate III/IV in Procurement, Business Administration, or a related discipline
• 2+ years’ experience in a purchasing, supply chain, or procurement role, ideally in mining, manufacturing, or heavy industry
