Job summary

Saltair is a Queensland-based builder inviting a Procurement Officer to join the team at our Coolum Beach factory. You will help ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget by reviewing designs, sourcing materials and managing tenders with a strong focus on cost control.

You will collaborate with an experienced team across residential, commercial and government markets, building robust relationships with suppliers and subcontractors and driving value through alternative procurement

Qualifications

• At least three years’ procurement experience within construction or manufacturing.
• Experience preparing accurate construction take-offs and procurement packages.
• Ability to obtain, evaluate and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Strong commercial negotiation and supplier relationship-management skills.
• Cost efficiencies and alternative procurement solutions.
• Multi-project procurement management with competing priorities.
• Strong attention to detail, organisation and communication.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing project designs and specifications to cost effectively.
• Preparing project-specific scopes of works and material take-offs.
• Coordinating competitive tender processes and evaluating submissions.
• Negotiating commercial terms and awarding packages within budgets.
• Developing strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
• Identifying alternative products and construction methods to improve value and efficiency.
• Strengthening supply chain through market research and new supplier engagement.
• Working with estimating and project teams to capture cost savings and lessons learned.
