Job summary

Ventia is seeking a Procurement Officer for the Bandiana Defence Base to manage purchasing transactions and maintain inventories under the Defence Maintenance Contract. You will ensure compliance with Commonwealth procurement rules and support customer and supplier inquiries.

The role requires competence in MS Office, familiarity with purchasing systems, and experience in a customer service environment, with ERP knowledge as an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Process procurement transactions to maintain inventories as directed by the Commonwealth.
• Ensure compliance with Commonwealth procurement legislation and departmental policies.
• Maintain and store accurate financial records per Commonwealth policies.
• Respond to inquiries regarding order status, changes or cancellations.
• Contact suppliers to prioritise, schedule, or expedite deliveries and resolve shortages or late deliveries.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and participate in business improvement teams.
• Support Managers and team members in applying the Defence Maintenance Contract.

About the RoleIn partnership with the Australian Defence Force and supporting our Defence Maintenance Contract (DMC), Ventia are currently seeking multiple positions for a Procurement Officer based out of the Bandiana (Albury / Wodonga region) Defence Base.

In this role, you will be responsible for processing process purchasing transactions to maintain inventories of materials, equipment, supplies and products, as directed by the Commonwealth.

Other Key Responsibilities include:

• Perform procurement tasks using Commonwealth mandated information systems and technology.
• Ensure compliance with Commonwealth procurement legislation, departmental policies, and processes.
• Maintain and store accurate financial records in accordance with Commonwealth systems and policies.
• Respond to customer and supplier inquiries regarding order status, changes, or cancellations.
• Contact suppliers to prioritize, schedule, or expedite deliveries and resolve issues such as shortages or late deliveries.
• Contribute to collaborative innovation through continuous improvement initiatives and participation in business improvement teams.
• Support Managers, Supervisors, and team members in the application of the Defence Maintenance Contract.

About YouTo be successful in your application you must be an Australian citizen and be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance up to the level of Base Line.

Other requirements:

• Competent in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
