THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an APS6 Procurement Officer to work within a federal government agency, providing procurement advice and support and preparing procurement and contract documentation for the team.
- Monitoring and managing procurement activities including providing advice and support for labour hire procurement.
- Assist in the preparation of procurement approval documentation including Approvals to Approach the Market, Evaluation Outcomes, Approvals to commit funds and enter into Arrangements.
- Corporate document management and filing and mailbox management.
- Responsible for managing a range of contracts, maintaining relationships with suppliers and customers.
- Monitoring contracts and managing extension or renewal of contracts and contract close-out.
- Creating and managing supplier contracts and purchase orders, ensuring compliance with finance policy.
- Maintaining contractor access to time sheeting portal and end of month processing.
- Administer contracts, outline agreements and purchase orders.
- Provide policy advice in relation to compliance with relevant Australian Government legislation, rules and policies relating to contract management and procurement activities.
- Preparation and ongoing management of Government contracts.
- Financial administration and reporting.
- Four years' experience working within Government Procurement.
- Thorough understanding of the PGPA Act for complex procurements.
- Contract management experience, with knowledge of CCS.
- Experience providing oversight of public sector procurement activities.
- Ability to undertake analysis of suppliers, markets, products and service categories to inform procurement planning.
- Assist in the administration of tender evaluation reports for consideration and approval.
- Ability to assist in the oversight of contracts administration activities and monitoring of contract management plans.
- Experience using SAP or similar related financial systems.

This is a contract opportunity for an initial 12-month period, with the potential for further extensions, and is based in Canberra. Flexible working options may be available.
