Job summary

uWorkin is seeking an experienced Operations Leader to supervise SX/EW processing across multiple copper assets in Northwest Queensland. You will deliver frontline supervision, technical guidance, and continuous improvement to ensure safe, reliable production outcomes.

In this role you will work with metallurgical teams, site leadership, and stakeholders to monitor performance, drive improvements, and support commissioning and plant upgrades on a 2/2 roster.

Job Description

You will join a tier-1 mining client operating multiple copper processing assets across Northwest Queensland, with a strong focus on SX/EW performance. In this operational leadership role, you will provide frontline process supervision, technical guidance, and operational support to drive safe, reliable production outcomes and ongoing process improvement across the circuit.

Working on a 2/2 roster, you will supervise multidisciplinary teams across metallurgical and production functions, ensuring daily processing activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with operational targets. You will work closely with site leadership, metallurgical teams, and operational stakeholders to monitor plant performance, identify improvement opportunities, and support stable production across multiple assets.

This is an influential operational role where your expertise in copper processing and hydrometallurgical systems will contribute directly to plant reliability, team capability, and continuous improvement outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise safe and efficient SX/EW processing operations
• Monitor plant performance, recovery, throughput, and operational stability
• Provide process guidance and support to production and metallurgical teams
• Identify and implement process improvements and optimisation opportunities
• Support metallurgical reporting, data analysis, and performance tracking
• Assist with commissioning activities, plant upgrades, and improvement projects
• Coach and develop operators and frontline processing personnel
• Collaborate with site leadership and key operational stakeholders to achieve production objectives

About You

• Proven experience within copper processing environments, ideally SX/EW operations
• Strong background in hydrometallurgical processing systems
• Experience in a Process Supervisor, Senior Metallurgist, or similar operational leadership role
• Understanding of heap leaching and electrowinning processes (preferred)
• Exposure to commissioning, troubleshooting, and process optimisation

• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across operational teams
