Job summary

Murrin Murrin Operations, part of Glencore, invites applications for a Process Plant Operator. The role involves operating a range of fixed-plant circuits across ore crushing, HPAL, thickening, leaching, and related utilities in a challenging metallurgical environment.

The successful candidate will bring experience in continuous metallurgical plant operations, knowledge of mechanical and chemical processes, and a disciplined approach to risk assessment and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Current and valid HR Drivers Licence is advantageous.
• LF Licence and front-end loader experience advantageous.
• Experience operating in a continuous metallurgical plant.
• Good knowledge of mechanical and chemical processes and reagent hazards.
• Familiar with risk assessment tools and HSE procedures.
• Experience with systems and procedures used in a similar process industry.
• Familiar with permit-to-work procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate fixed-plant circuits including ore crushing, milling and HPAL processes.
• Support safe operations across leach, thickening, and solvent extraction stages.
• Monitor process equipment and respond to abnormal conditions.
• Adhere to permit-to-work procedures and HSE guidelines.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to optimise performance.

Murrin Murrin Operations has an opportunity for experienced Process Plant Operator’s seeking an even time roster, with career progression and professional growth opportunities.

Our complex and technically challenging process plant consists of three operating areas: Ore Leach, Refinery and Utilities. As a key member of our production Team you will be presented with professional development and real career progression opportunities.

Murrin Murrin Operations is Australia’s largest cobalt producer and a major world producer of nickel. Our Murrin Murrin site in WA’s northern Goldfields is an integrated nickel and cobalt mining and processing operation employing over 1,000 people. The Role

The successful person will become a member our hardworking and committed team who are responsible for operating a variety of fixed-plant circuits, which will include a selection of the following technologies:

• Ore crushing, milling & screening
• High Pressure Acid Leaching (HPAL)
• Thickening, neutralisation & Briquetting
• Sulphide precipitation & leaching
• Solvent extraction & Hydrogen reduction
• Sulphuric acid & Process gas production
• Power supply (gas & steam turbines)

About You

• A current and valid HR Drivers Licence (Advantageous)
• LF Licence & front-end Loader Experience (Advantageous)
• Previous experience operating in a continuous operating metallurgical plant
• Sound knowledge of mechanical and chemical processes and chemical reagent hazards
• Demonstrated familiarity with individual and team-based risk assessment tools and HSE procedures
• Experience with systems and procedures used within a similar process industry
• Familiar working with permit to work procedures
