Liontown is seeking a Leading Hand Process Operator at Kathleen Valley to operate mineral processing equipment, monitor performance, and support safety and production targets. You will mentor less experienced operators and ensure procedures are followed across shifts.

The role offers a 12-hour shift roster, with opportunities for progression within a growing operation and a collaborative safety-focused culture.

Our Kathleen Valley Lithium Operation in Western Australia is a world-class, tier-one asset with a 20+ year mine life, and we are building the team to match. Our Operations division sits at the core of Liontown, extracting valuable resources safely and efficiently and managing our day-to-day mining and processing activities. Within this, our Processing Production department keeps the Kathleen Valley plant running to target, shift after shift.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Supervisor - Processing, the Leading Hand Process Operator is an experienced and technically proficient operator who acts as a point of reference for the work group, operating and monitoring the equipment and processes involved in mineral processing at Kathleen Valley.

You will ensure the safe and efficient operation of processing equipment, support delivery of production targets, and maintain compliance with safety and environmental standards across your shift. Beyond your own operating duties, you will provide practical guidance to less experienced operators and set the standard for safe, procedurally compliant work practices within the team.

What You'll Be Doing

Operate and monitor mineral processing equipment, including conveyors, crushers, mills, magnetic separators, flotation cells, and dewatering systems, ensuring optimal performance and troubleshooting operational issues as they arise.
Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment, and report safety hazards or incidents promptly
Monitor product quality and take corrective action to ensure it meets specified standards, conducting routine inspections and tests as part of quality control
Maintain accurate records of process parameters, equipment readings and production data, and generate shift reports to communicate key information to the next shift
Guide and mentor less experienced operators, sharing technical knowledge and modelling best practice in safe and compliant plant operation
Support the Supervisor - Processing with shift handover, providing accurate detail on plant status, task progress, hazards and outstanding actions

What We're Looking For

Significant experience in a process operator role with demonstrated readiness to operate as a work group reference point
Demonstrated experience providing technical guidance and practical instruction to less experienced operators
Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow standard operating procedures
Certificate III in Process Plant Technology, or equivalent vocational qualification
Ability to guide and mentor less experienced operators through practical, field-based instruction
Clear and accurate communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information and operational status to the team and to leaders
