Job summary

Bega Group operates a Crestmead dairy site south of Brisbane, producing milk and dairy products from local farms. This permanent night-shift Process Operator role runs Monday–Friday from 9:30 pm to 6:00 am, balancing raw materials with production needs and ensuring high quality operations.

You will operate equipment across processing and production areas, perform QA activities, and support safety, GMP and continuous improvement initiatives to deliver reliable output.

Qualifications

• Previous FMCG or food-manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot processing, packaging and equipment issues.
• Knowledge of safe work practices and food safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Process raw materials to required specs while balancing material availability and production needs.
• Perform VAT planning activities using site control systems.
• Operate machinery across lab, processing and production environments.
• Complete quality activities: sampling, swabbing, plating and QA tasks.

The Role Join Bega Group as a Process Operator, supporting the processing, mixing and batching of milk to meet production plans at the Crestmead manufacturing site. This is a permanent night-shift position, Monday to Friday, from 9:30 pm to 6:00 am. You will balance incoming raw materials with production requirements, operate equipment across processing and production, and help maintain safe, efficient and high-quality operations. Our Crestmead dairy site near Logan, south of Brisbane, manufactures and distributes a range of milk and milk-based products, made with fresh milk sourced direct from 35 dairy farms in the south‑east Queensland region. Producing around 100 million litres of product per year!

Responsibilities

• Process raw materials to required specifications while balancing material availability with production requirements
• Perform VAT planning activities using site control systems
• Operate machinery across laboratory, processing and production environments
• Complete quality activities, including sampling, swabbing, plating and other QA Officer tasks
• Support food safety, GMP compliance, continuous improvement, waste reduction and risk-reduction initiatives

About You

• Previous experience in the FMCG or food‑manufacturing industry
• Strong troubleshooting skills for processing, packaging and equipment issues
• Sound knowledge of safe work practices, hazard prevention and food‑safety requirements
• Experience in production planning or scheduling, with strong planning and organisational skills
• A collaborative communicator who demonstrates adaptability, sound decision‑making and a commitment to delivering results
