Anglo American Australia is seeking a Process Engineer to join the Capcoal CHPP team in Middlemount, QLD. The role focuses on process, quality and coal logistics, delivering improvements to optimise metallurgical performance and reduce processing variability.
You will evaluate new technologies and support problem solving in a team environment. The ideal candidate has a recognised degree in Metallurgy, Chemical/Process Engineering and relevant experience in coal processing.
In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in manganese, as well as copper exploration projects under way in North West Queensland. Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world.

As the process engineer, you willbe responsible forproviding technical input to the CHPP department toassistin achievingoptimalmetallurgical performance of the process plant.Capcoalprocesses many different seams, each withtheir own challenges to recovery,costand throughput, and offers a rewarding challenge.You will evaluate new and different technologies with a focus on reducing processing variability,optimizingcombustiblerecoveryand improving the process capability.
