Job summary

Anglo American Australia is seeking a Process Engineer to join the Capcoal CHPP team in Middlemount, QLD. The role focuses on process, quality and coal logistics, delivering improvements to optimise metallurgical performance and reduce processing variability.

You will evaluate new technologies and support problem solving in a team environment. The ideal candidate has a recognised degree in Metallurgy, Chemical/Process Engineering and relevant experience in coal processing.

Qualifications

• Recognised degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering.
• Experience in an operating processing plant within coal or metalliferous industries is advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to work in production and maintenance teams.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the identification, development and delivery of process improvements within the CHPP.
• Analyse and improve processing systems to minimise lost opportunity in coal recovery and production volume.
• Critically review operating and technical data to identify trends or non-compliance and provide technical advice to rectify issues or optimise processes.
• Identify and deliver projects to optimiseCHPP operation in terms of Safety, Volume and Cost.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis on events to reduce risk of repeat events.
• Work with suppliers to innovate through the challenges of various coal seams.
• Own production data capture and identify opportunities to improve the operational systems.

As the process engineer, you willbe responsible forproviding technical input to the CHPP department toassistin achievingoptimalmetallurgical performance of the process plant.Capcoalprocesses many different seams, each withtheir own challenges to recovery,costand throughput, and offers a rewarding challenge.You will evaluate new and different technologies with a focus on reducing processing variability,optimizingcombustiblerecoveryand improving the process capability. In this role you will:

Qualifications

• You will have arecogniseddegree in Metallurgy, ChemicalEngineeringor Process Engineering.
• Previousexperience within an operating processing plant within the coal or metalliferous industry will be highlyadvantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to work to support and collaborateeffectively, andintegrate as a valued member of both production and maintenance teams.
• You will be a highlyorganisedindividual with strong analytical skills and a collaborative approach to problems solving.
• Your ability to build strong relationships with all levels of stakeholders in theorganisationwill enable you to effectively deliver support to achieve the overall goals of the CHPP.
